What are they?
A mutual fund is a basket of stocks, bonds, cash and other securities that are owned by (usually) thousands of investors and professionally managed by a mutual fund company.

Who provides them?
Mutual funds are distributed through Manulife Securities Investment Services Inc. which is our sponsoring dealer. Manulife Securities Investment Services Inc. is one of Canada's largest and most stable mutual fund dealers. I am registered to sell mutual funds in the provinces of Ontario and Manitoba.

Advantages
Mutual funds can be an effective vehicle to purchase a diversified portfolio of investments that is professionally managed.

Disadvantages
Your capital is not guaranteed in any way and your funds may be seized should you encounter financial difficulties.
